Fligh across the pond or art of Origami

Fligh across the pond or art of Origami

What a trip. Yeah the trip to the Emerald island and actually to UK too as the stopover at London is great refreshment on the way across the pond. The travel across the pond is another story as this is not really refreshing unless you are having the POLARIS class on the UNITED flight which is great and also greatly expensive too. Well since I love the Japan so much I should start study the art of origami and maybe then I would learn how to fold my tiny six foot two frame to the economy seat. Yoga helps for sure to get the joint flexible but the art of folding is ultimately the Origami.

Yeah I was lucky sod as I’ve received two very last seats in the back of the plane, which usually are not my choice but hey I had two seats for myself and the toilet right behind my nose, well behind head but you know what I mean. Not to mention that galley was there too so anything I would like to get I just stretch my arm and get it, so overall good seats.

However that opinion changed somewhere above Newfoundland when I realized that my limited yoga and non-existing origami skills reached the limit and I was twisting and flopping on the seat like fresh fish on the hot grill.

Landing in London was soooooooo expected and appreciated, that even in the haze state the foggy brain took over the puppet body and get me out of the plane, walking on two straight legs. Woo hoo I could stretch legs and there were stairs at the airport, never thought that I would look forward to walk on the stairs that much.

Best part was the double espresso to get the control center back in operation to grab my luggage and happy to see old pal Marek waiting for me and then escort me to Heinrich who took us to Guildford. What a lovely town I have to say, there is something about the English old towns with their red brick houses with slanted tiled roofs and narrow cobbled streets. Also the park with gazebo where band was playing some old fart music and people just sat down on the lush green grass covered by obviously some blanket with sandwiches and other picnic items.

Well since we are not English and we would not wanted to lower the age profile of listeners as well as we did not want to be resuscitated in case of emergency we sneaked out from the park and park our behinds in the traditional local English pub for a few scoops.

I have to admit I love the old fashioned ale pulled without any addition to the beer just pure taste of great beer. What a great time and the remains of the sunshine were upon us in the garden overlooking back of the houses and their lovely shaped gardens we had enjoyed the refreshments. Eventually my body caught up on the fact that I’m no longer in Caribbean and that the sun shining was a good couple of degrees cooler than what I used to merely 24 hours ago so we moved inside.

As with any alcoholic beverage, hunger follows after a while but this time we missed the cut of point of cooking and had to soldier on the liquid lunch for another few pints, until become clear that my airline snack eaten a while back will not hold the alcohol at bay. One kebab shop later, we finished in the Wetherspoon as the Kebab shop was not really to our speed and me hungry oy vey not a good sight. Since we went to next fast food ish we had a burger in my case two as I needed to get solid in belly. Nothing worth to Wet Her Spoon was available at the time of night so spooning was postponed and we went to get some shut eye.

Since I mismanaged the flight a bit we had only short time to catch up on the life with Marek but still it is so good to catch up face to face with mates. Wish I was scheduled this better and had another day but hey, some other time. Heinrich was ready to drive us to the Heathrow and so I was going to another flight to the final destination of Emerald fecking Island.
