Hello all :-)

Welcome to my page. I will try to document my travels and scuba diving around the world or at least few countries. Hope you have a nice stay!

Warsaw in January as observed by Frankie.

Warsaw in January as observed by Frankie.

Well, what can I say, it is damp and cold like Ireland with exception of one day when the temperature dropped below zero and the white stuff actually start falling from the sky instead of water. Have to admit the white fluffy stuff makes everything looking nicer and more Christmassy, cozy and heartwarming, kind of like the Disney cartoons. Only the grumpy beast is not saved by some random beautiful girl who sees inner beauty and charm. That is for Disney, real world is about looks and money as far as I can see around me, I see girls with the phone posing resembling models from advertisement, when taking selfies. Seen many of them well dressed better to say more like overdressed and some even with personal photographer trailing behind them like little dog, just leash is missing. Looking good on the Insta is the new norm I guess of being famous and hoping that someone like that photo, means that they love me. For f@&k sake, no wonder I’m grumpy.

Apparently I’m grumpy and old as the world but at least I’m not sitting down with friends and instead of talking, taking photos and typing on mobile. What a sight when people are sitting at table and each have their mobile front of their faces looking scrolling, communicating with the phone more than with the person opposite them. Event this is Warsaw, mobile rules all, hail the ever connected devices.

The outskirts of the city are full of apartment blocks but not people, as anytime I venture outside of city center for sauna or doctor appointment etc. I see load of apartment blocks and ghost streets only occupied by lonely dog walker. Looks like all the people of Warsaw are coming to city center for a stroll and mulled wine. Every weekend and evening the main area of city center is full of people walking around. It is nice to see that main street of city center is made into pedestrian street every weekend, which draws huge crowds in. Not only young but also middle aged and old but mainly young of course. Prefer it that way as I can look at the young girls and trying to chat them up.  However this is hard as I’m too small, they might step on me or over me as I match the yellow snow.

How not to be grumpy, when this is the life I live and that fecker is only taking me to cold countries instead of some nice hot beach locations where girls are leisurely laying down in sand in my line of sight. Then I can chat the m up as they just catching some tan rotating like pig on the spit. That would be paradise and I might not even be grumpy anymore.

Overall the Warsaw in January is o.k place to be, Royal Way is nice place to walk around and sit in for Pierogi or mulled wine or my favorite drozdovka makova with cup of coffee. Christmas decoration was changed for Ferrero Roche so instead of nice Christmas décor, there are huge golden balls what supposed to resemble Ferrero stacked up to pyramid shape on each side of the road. Both sides are then connected by overhang with huge sing FERRERO in the middle. I can imagine that 2 – 3 years old kids growing up in this, will have Ferrero for Christmas dinner when they grow up and SALE signs as home decorations.
