Diving Diary

Diving Diary or another attempt to write something that someone, somewhere will find interesting to read and will finish till last dot or not, anyhow, I don’t care.

The days now blend to months and actually year had passed by, since I had arrived to this island in Caribbean, called Roatan. One of the learned skill that came handy was not wearing watch, not using calendar and therefore time had just passed like a blur made by painter brush on black canvas or as if it was a skid mark made by car breaking in haste on the tarmac.

Also another thing I learned is that I can just clear my mind from work related issues and this skill made my stay here a way easier and more comfortable, since I do not think about work when leave work. I thought that this is what everyone is doing it but I learned that this is not the case. Sometimes I feel special, not that I went to special school as much as sometimes It looks that way but it is more like I’m different than others.

Being not interested in calendar and time of the day made my life here and to that aspect everywhere easier and much more relaxed. Sure the ocean is helpful and since I genuinely love and enjoy the scuba diving, I found out that this is making the rest of the time I have left here on this blue potato a little bit more bearable.

Yes there are moments that are creating the equilibrium of my existence here as there is no way all will be hunky dory so sometimes we need a bit of rough patch or issues in our lives to remind us to smell the roses as they say and well also that we have ego and emotions.

When such moment when Ego and Emotions arrive into my life I would like to say I’m cool as cucumber in gin & tonic but I’m just human, however I’m trying to do my best to manage and if I’m at home the hammock is the great remedy.

Scuba diving is the another remedy as when I’m in water and have Ego / Emotions taking over me I realize that as the air consumption is going up and that is the time to do yoga breath from the belly to calm the fuck down.

See the scuba is doing great to me on the physical, mental level and recently I learned that even my artistic bone gets tickled since I was lucky to dove and talk with some artist whose creations are probably inspired by the underwater world and as much as they might seems to look weird I would love to buy one day some of them. Just for someone who read this the artist is SARAH IPOLITO.

This is the proof that the scuba divers are really from all aspects of life and this is one of the reason, that keeps me  attracted to the diving, not to mention the peace, silence except the bubbles, weightlessness and the things you see there are like from sci-fi movie.

I love to talk to people as much as I’m way quieter than I used be and more solitary but that maybe comes with age or I catch it from the Grumpy Frankie my constant travel companion. Well it is said that we are resembling out partners, so maybe I took some of the Grumpy Frankie traits doh.

Holy moly if I took his, he might took some of mine …. 😊 he actually might get a better, more calm and patient. Who am I kidding….. he will be the same grumpy Frankie as it was and that’s good as we are all the same, just with time we might get our edges smothered like stone in the river or stream.

So to summarize this first diving diary, not much said about diving but hey, life is life and I might talk more about diving in next installment of this gibberish on my next day off. Scuba is amazing and I wish more people are scuba divers, so that they understood that all is circle and whatever we do on land will eventually ends in ocean. As well that if you would like to see that amazing life, you should be aware that your choices matter to the ocean. What we use in our homes, work, what we eat is affecting the ocean in many ways that regular people are not aware of it.

The disturbing fact is that when you dive at one spot for extended period of time you see the changes in corals and decrease in amount of fish plus increase of waste floating in ocean and this is direct impact we are having on the environment. This is the effect we as top species have on the ocean and with the so much environmental information daily trumpeted by all knowing web we get somehow numb from overload of environmental news.

So for now I’m not adding to that overload.
