And summer is here.

And summer is here…. Even in the homeland of rain and drizzle, sometimes  Sun has upper hand and get through the clouds. Well we have such a great weather that it is hard to be negative as the blue sky above and Spanish yellow color of the burned grass under our feet is something, that is rare sight. People flocking to the sea side and beaches looks like Canary Island, music blasting from al lthe portable speakers and pale white or lobster red people are mingling on the beach. Few thrill seekers are swimming in the ocean. Screams are rare and sporadically heard, so that everyone raise the eyebrow when hear one and just utter ‘ahh tourist’ and return to their cold beer and those under 10 years old to the ice cream. What a summer paradise.

Since I had no intention to get stuck in traffic, I avoided all sea side areas and headed to the hills instead. Even there I choose the other, less populated or preferred side as with sunshine the mass exodus is under way from the great village of Dublin. Lunch time drive heading towards Blessington and then up to hills and thank God this way was not that busy, no traffic jam all the way. What a cracking day on the hills and even the car park was not totally full so the sheep on hard shoulder can continue to leisurely walk and eat. Felt good to start the climb up to Tonelgee what I realized later is the hill above the heart shaped lake Lough Ouler. That explains why so many young were climbing ahead of me as usually I’m the youngest on the hills but this time I could not believe my eyes. So many teenagers and mostly girls walking up the hill… obviously the latest fashion of plastic tights in fluorescent colors are important so that in case mountain rescue can spot them quickly. Maybe not only mountain rescue but maybe also the guys roaming the lake, like stag in the season. What a climb, for feck sake, I thought I’m in shape but I’m not, still the three ladies who started 15 min before me were halfway when I reached summit. Just to jump to end of the hike and as I’m descending the hill, they there are. In the same spot, where I passed them on the way up five hours ago, so I assume that they did not stay there all the time …. Anyhow the lake was nice, photo taken and I can continue to finish line of my day hike, hill called Mullaghcleevaun or realistically called the Fu&^%$ Hill as it was around 25 degrees Celsia what on the direct sun felt like 35 but occasional cloud and wind make a break, so I did not felt like the sardine on the grill. The turf in no place to walk on when the sun is going on it like dog in the season, since the dark turf attract sunshine and you are walking on the induction hob, cooked through and through.  As I’m coming up the fu$%^£ hill I see the guy on 4x4 moto looking down with binoculars and I think, thank God, lift is here. Well he was chasing the sheep and not me, phef what a luck, better that way. At least he was so good that he gave me tip on better road for return, what I have to admit was easier. Local knowledge is local knowledge. Reached the finish line on top, replenished energy with some banana and energy bar, took some photo and headed back as I suppose to go water the plants in apartment of my friends who ae on hols.

Well watering hmmm I’m trying to couching them, spending all the time and energy to learn them to visualize ‘ I’m a cactus, I do not  need water’ and the response is not the best. Leaves are falling but nothing else is happening in line with my visualization. I think that only prick I will get is from my friends, who will call me that, when they see their precious flower pots. Well that is what you get when you do not background check of my gardening abilities, otherwise they would choose someone else or just give me direction to what kind of plants they want to buy. Anyhow, the watering will wait until next day as after arriving home and hygiene session in shower I found the fountain of the youth in fridge aka Corona with lime and then parked my bonny ass on sofa to recharge like Dublin electric bikes on charging station. Still the burning sensation of my shoulders and neck are soothed by cold CORONA, gracias Mexico fur such great invention of after sun treatment. What a weekend.
