Just few thoughts from my grey matter between the ears :-)
Midlife crisis travels is funny name what came to my mind as I was deciding what domain I should get for this blog and since people were surprised of what I decided to do, that no one expected from me they label it that I have midlife crisis and I took this as great funny name for a website. When is real midlife crisis is disputable for me as it could be in your thirties, forties, fifties or even sixties since none knows how long will be here. Also for us men probably never as we are big children playing with bigger cars, motorbikes and mostly always chasing the younger girls. I’ve decided to travel a bit, rather than remain in rat race, chasing the dream or younger girls “which is not bad idea and I do not completely refuse it” based on the chain of events in my private life. Therefore the break was release from mundane existence of the daily life and also fulfilling the life long dream of being on the road travelling to various countries. As long as I remember I wanted to travel and see the world, explore the different cultures, taste various food of local cuisines . I also greatly believe that travelling is one of the best universities of life and would advice that everyone after finishing college should go or two years travelling. This way, the understanding of world will be broaden as well as understanding of the fact that we are different nations, speaking by different language but at the core we are humans and all we want is simple life, to have food, shelter, family etc and be nice and polite to each other. I would say that more travelling person does in the world less conflicts would happen in the world. Conflict is just misunderstanding what is taken to extreme by some people or politicians who are trying to paint different culture , nation as threat to gain support from people who are fearful of the changes or possible loss of theirs way of life, without experiencing other ways of life. When I travel I see that kindness and open hearth is always getting the best from everyone I meet and that people are generally nice to each other even if they do not understand the language they speak, since the energy can be felt. Perception of the world could enhance the experience or do the opposite. Example for myself was meeting a guy who was telling me to not the pat the cat as this is dangerous, also asking why would anyone drive the manual gearbox and when told that it could be fun he asked why should it be fun ? That perception of world is alien to me but I respect his choice of opinion as long as he will not push this as the only opinion or in worst case scenario the truth. It is his opinion and he is free to have one but this showed me how close I could be in judging others and that I need to work on myself as well and to be open to the world and experiences without judgment or negative perception is important as when we are open we see the world as it really is, beautiful place with people who can live beside each other and cooperate for greatest good and not only for profit. When I think about midlife crisis I think of evaluating the life and it purpose, achievement and legacy left behind and most of all experiences I have had as they help determine who I truly am. The core values are set long time before we reach fifth year of our childhood and therefore the rest of the life I just tried figure out the correct path of my life in line with the core values and intuition. The “midlife crisis” will surface as need for change or return to core values. So here I am on “Midlife Crisis Travels” and enjoying every bit of it.
